Website Designer/Developer

Frontier is looking for an exceptional Web Developer to join our team in Cambridge, UK. Within this role the successful candidate will be responsible for the visual design and backend implementation of the company’s game websites, accounts/communication systems and external assets, ensuring a variety of brands are maintained to a high quality throughout. We are looking for someone with a passion for gaming and prior experience of web development in the games industry or with agencies. Using a variety of tools and technologies including Photoshop, PHP, HTML, MySQL, CSS and an open source CMS the successful candidate will have a strong creative influence on the way our websites grow, interact and cater to our community and promote our games.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Provide creative website designs and continuous asset updates for our strong portfolio of upcoming games.
• Code websites into our Content Management System, devising custom modules where applicable.
• Manage and maintain a global user accounts database spread across multiple websites.

Key Requirements:

• Strong ability and experience in image manipulation software, including Photoshop and Illustrator, and web technologies such as PHP, HTML, CSS and MySQL.
• Good understanding of website design and construction, with the ability to take a brief from concept to completion with minimal guidance.
• Experience with and knowledge of open source content management systems and database architecture, design and management.
• Ability in 2D animation software and scripting languages such as Flash and ActionScript.
• Good understanding of accessibility, user experience and interaction between customers and websites, and an understanding of Search Engine Optimisation techniques.

Preferred:

• 2+ years working in the design industry or equivalent.
• Knowledge in additional languages such as: XHTML, XML, JavaScript and AJAX.
• Experience with standard online advertising, rich media and print media formats.
• Passionate about video games.

Salary will be dependen on skills & experience.
